Well, the exams are over and the graduations are all done. I’m tired, but it’s a “good” kind of tired. Never before in my entire career at UC Davis have I worked as hard as I have this past six months. But it was good work. Although we did not accomplish everything I wanted to get done this year, we accomplished much that really matters, so I have no complaints.
I am so proud of the wonderful students I had the privilege of working with this year, and the awesome staff and faculty of AAAS. I am particularly thankful for the work of Ms. Dionica Bell, Ms. Sequoya Collins (from whom I got the photo of Black Grad you see on this page), and Ms. Debra McCracken. I look forward to what we can accomplish in my next year of being the Director of African American & African Studies.
Students, continuing and graduates: always remember to SHINE.
I’ll see some of you in the Fall, and we’ll welcome the new students who will be here by then. Be well until we meet again.
Sincerely,
Dr. Milmon
